An open letter from Canal & River Trust CEO Campbell Robb

Dear customer,

Our chief executive, Campbell Robb, has written an open letter about the current challenges facing the canal network, including drought conditions, water shortages, infrastructure issues, stoppages and the difficult decisions being made to protect navigation.

We know that these issues are having a real impact on boating businesses, particularly where restrictions and closures affect trading, bookings, customer confidence and day-to-day operations.

Campbell’s letter explains what the Trust is doing now, why the network is facing these pressures, and how we are working differently to reduce future risk and secure the long-term future of navigation.

You can read the full letter here.

Thank you for your continued support and for helping us manage water responsibly during this challenging period.

If you have specific queries in relation to your operation please email:

Kind regards,
Business Boating Team
Canal & River Trust
